Pickochet is a short, incremental mining game where you mine ore, upgrade pickaxes, unlock abilities and discover new mining sites.

Pickochet is an incremental and idle mining game where you mine ore with ricocheting pickaxes that bounce around the screen. Mine ore, sell it for profit and upgrade your ores, pickaxes and abilities. The classic incremental gameplay loop!

Sit back and relax while your pickaxes do the work for you, or take a more active approach and click along with your pickaxes and use your active abilities. The choice is yours!

Progress through the first 2 of 6 mining locations by upgrading your ores, pickaxes and abilities through skill trees in this demo! Each location offers more rewards than the last and unlocks new, more powerful abilities and upgrades.

Game Demo Features
- Ricocheting pickaxes that automatically mine for you
- Unlockable bonus pickaxes that spawn during a run
- Special pickaxes that feature unique effects that boost efficiency
- Equipable abilities to boost your runs
- Ore and pickaxe upgrade trees
- Play through 2 out of 6 mining locations

to the creator of the game I'm thinking of recording a video on this game I'm brand new to this stuff so do i have to ask to record videos on games and if I do can i do a video on yours?

(1 edit)

Feel free to make a video! I would love to see it once you do! If you’re recording it would probably be easier to use the steam version: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4428160/Pickochet_Demo/

Nice game

thank you!

I think some of the tutorial text is automatically skipping, and I've no idea why

Oops, I think this might be something to do with previous text not clearing quickly enough. Right before a new text line is shown the previous is shown again for a brief second, making it look like something was skipped. We'll get this sorted in the next patch. Thank you for letting us know :)

I'm more inclined to believe it's skipping currently, because when it took me to the pickaxe store the tutorial guy walked off without saying anything about what to do there

This is a fun idea with a progression that feels really smooth and abilities that feel nice to use. Lovely demo!

thanks for checking it out!

the abilities are really fun, i stayed for a while after clearing the demo just to get the crit dice roll and wasn't disappointed. progress in this type of game means that, the later you get, the bigger and more devastating your effects are, but other games tend to not make it particularly interesting. the "fire in the hole" ability is when this game started shining for me, as simple as it is, because it has personality which makes it exciting to get. as another example, you could have just had a "full screen clear" ability that's just a simple big explosion, but instead you get a little wizard slowly walking onscreen and casting a massive and colorful cluster of explosions. it's fun!!

i’m glad you liked our goofy little abilities. There’s lots more to come in the full game. thanks for playing! :)

Unlocked everything in the demo, really like it but there is no real challenge.

maybe having ranks for "clearing" a mine in under a certain amount of time or a concept of days where you get in the mine, timer starts and at the end you can upgrade and do your stuff before starting the next one.

thanks for the feedback. I’ve made a note of it on the to do list! Not sure if this is the type of thing you mean but there will be achievements in the full game as an extra challenge for players :)

also not a fan of having to choose when to end a run. i'd rather have a timer

good job, unique mechanic, you have potenial

game is fun as an idle game:

what i didnt like

-i have to end run to do the upgrades

-skill tree is seperated into multiple tabs, just make it 1 giant skill tree (1 tab)

-make the upgrades doable while the run is active

otherwise the game loop is fun

Thanks for playing and thank you for the feedback! I’ll make note of all this

Just saw the pickaxe get stuck before it surprised me lmao

haha, I made them explode when they get stuck because it seemed more fun than just moving it

It is so refreshing to see a unique take on the the skill tree incremental game genre. I swear most skill tree incremental games are just nodebuster clones with some variance but this is so unique that I genuinely played for a while after buying every upgrade and got up to 50M. I'm looking forward to the full release.
